What: Snow. Snow accumulations tonight of 2-4 inches on the Sierra crest. Then for Wednesday-Thursday morning, 4-8 inches west of Highway 89 with 6-12 inches along the Sierra crest. 1 to 3 inches possible at lake level. Sierra valley gusts of 45 to 55 mph. Wave heights on Lake Tahoe from 3 to 6 feet. 100 mph gusts on the ridgetops.
Where: Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
When: Until 8 AM PDT Thursday.
Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
Additional Details: The strongest winds are expected on Wednesday night between 8 PM and 5 AM.
