RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT TODAY DUE TO LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES, BREEZY WINDS,
And Ongoing Severe And Extreme Drought: The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening.
Affected Area: Fire Weather Zones 051, 052, 053, 054, 055, 056, 057, 058, 059, 060, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265 and 266.
Winds: Northeast 10 to 15 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 15 to 20 percent.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
