Yellow Warning - Rainfall

Issued at Wed 11:08 PM Apr. 1
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Rainfall on tap

What: Rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 millimetres

When: Thursday evening to Friday

Where: Témiscamingue, La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, Mont-Laurier, Tremblant and Upper Mauricie

Additional information:
Precipitation will likely start as snow on Thursday evening. Snow will change to freezing rain, then to rain late in the evening or overnight.

Rain and mild temperatures will lead to accelerated snowmelt, potentially raising water levels in some rivers.

A second low pressure system will bring more rain and mild temperatures for the Easter weekend. The cumulative effect of this week's precipitation amounts will accentuate the impacts on rivers and streams.

###

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #QCStorm.
