Special Weather Statement

Issued at Sun 4:03 AM May. 3
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Rainfall and strong winds are expected to develop on Sunday.

Locations: Prince Edward Island.

Potential rainfall: 25 to 40 mm, possibly higher.

Potential wind gusts: northerly 70 to 80 km/h.

Time span: This afternoon until Monday morning.

Remarks: An approaching weather system forecast to track over eastern Nova Scotia is expected to bring another period of rainfall and gusty winds to parts of PEI. There is some uncertainty as to where the highest rainfall amounts will occur. Rain is expected to mix with or change to snow over some areas.

Clear storm drains and gutters of leaves and other debris in advance of the rainfall. Secure outdoor items such as patio sets, umbrellas, and garbage bins so they don’t blow around in strong winds.
