Yellow Warning - Winter Storm
A significant late season winter storm begins Friday.
What:
Snow and ice pellets with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Freezing rain with ice build-up of up to 2 mm.
When:
Beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Sunday morning.
Additional information:
Snow, at times heavy, will begin Friday afternoon. Snow is expected to become mixed with ice pellets Friday night, with areas southeast of Webequie changing to freezing rain. Precipitation will then change back to snow Saturday morning. Strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h will develop Saturday afternoon. These strong winds combined with the falling snow will produce significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
