Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

What:
Reduced visibility in snow and local blowing snow.
Heavy lake effect snow with total amounts of 15 to 30 cm. Locally higher amounts are possible in the most persistent lake effect snow bands.

When:
Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

Additional information:
Rapidly falling temperatures are expected through the day on Wednesday. Lake effect snow off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will develop Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. Northwesterly winds will become more northerly by Wednesday evening. As a result, the highest snowfall amounts are expected to be over eastern Lambton county and western Middlesex county to near Grand Bend, as well as over northern Grey county to near Stayner.

Wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h will result in blowing snow and further reduce visibility.

###

Travel may be hazardous. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways may be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
