Description
Freezing rain expected today. What: Freezing rain leading to icy surfaces. Ice accretion or build-up of 2 to 5 mm on some surfaces. When: Beginning near noon and ending this evening. Where: For areas along and north of the Highway 407 corridor. Additional information: Freezing rain is expected to begin near noon and change over to rain late this afternoon or evening as temperatures climb above the freezing mark. A brief period of freezing is expected at the onset of precipitation for areas south of the Highway 407 corridor but no significant ice accretion is expected. ### Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Icy surfaces could be difficult to detect. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Yellow Warning - Rainfall

Description

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

What:
Total rain and freezing rain amounts 20 to 40 mm

When:
Beginning near noon and ending Monday morning.

Additional information:
Freezing rain or rain will begin near noon near the west end of Lake Ontario and spread east through the afternoon. Some areas near Lake Ontario are expected to receive mostly rain while other regions will gradually transition from freezing rain to rain tonight. Rain and freezing rain will be heavy at times through the afternoon and evening. The rain will ease Monday morning.

If possible, clear storm drains of snow and ice.

Localized flooding is possible. Some roads may become impassable.

Description

Strong winds expected on Monday.

What:
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.

When:
Beginning Monday morning and easing Monday evening.

Additional information.
Strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop Monday morning
with the passage of a strong cold front. The winds will ease through
Monday evening as they shift around to the northwest. Areas that will receive ice build-up from freezing rain will be most vulnerable.

Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences,
branches or soft shelters is possible. Some property damage is
possible. Secure loose objects.
