Description
Freezing rain expected Sunday. What: Freezing rain leading to icy surfaces. Ice accretion or build-up of 2 to 5 mm on some surfaces. When: Beginning near midday Sunday and ending Sunday evening. Where: For areas along and north of the Highway 407 corridor. Additional information: Freezing rain is expected to begin near midday on Sunday. The freezing rain will change over to rain late Sunday afternoon or evening as temperatures climb above the freezing mark. A brief period of freezing is expected at the onset of precipitation for areas south of the Highway 407 corridor but no significant ice accretion is expected. ### Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Description

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

What:
Total rain and freezing rain amounts 20 to 40 mm

When:
Beginning Sunday afternoon and ending Monday morning.

Additional information:
Freezing rain will begin near midday or early Sunday afternoon before transitioning over to rain Sunday evening. Rain and freezing rain will be heavy at times through the afternoon and evening. The rain will ease Monday morning.

If possible, clear storm drains of snow and ice.

Localized flooding is possible. Some roads may become impassable.

Strong winds expected on Monday.

What:
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.

When:
Beginning Monday morning and easing Monday evening.

Additional information.
Strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop Monday morning
with the passage of a strong cold front. The winds will ease through
Monday evening as they shift around to the northwest. Areas that will receive ice accretion from freezing rain will be most vulnerable.

Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences,
branches or soft shelters is possible. Some property damage is
possible. Secure loose objects.
