Yellow Warning - Freezing Rain

Issued at Wed 5:07 AM Mar. 11
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Freezing rain continues.

What:
Prolonged period of freezing rain.
Ice accretion or build-up of 5 to 10 mm.

When:
Continuing early this morning through this evening.

Additional information:
A series of low pressure systems will lead to significant freezing rain across parts of southern Ontario. Note that southern portions of the Bruce Peninsula are likely to change over to rain early this morning, reducing the amount of ice build up.

Freezing rain may fall heavily at times. In this case, the precipitation may not freeze immediately, which may lead to localized flooding in low lying areas.

Widespread utility outages are possible.

###

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery. Property or tree damage due to the weight of ice is possible. There is risk of injury due to slips and falls.
