Orange Watch - Snow Squall

Description

Dangerous snow squalls and blizzard conditions Monday into Tuesday.

What:
Blizzard conditions with near zero visibility.
Total local snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm.
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h.

When:
Late Monday morning easing to scattered flurries Tuesday afternoon.

Additional information:
A colder air mass in the wake of a departing low pressure system will result in the development of lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron. Widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions will be the primary concern as northwesterly wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected.

Travel may be hazardous and some routes may be impassable. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways may be impassable due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.
