Description

A winter storm is expected. What: Total snowfall and ice pellet amounts near 10 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow. Freezing rain with ice build-up of 3 to 5 mm. When: Beginning this afternoon or evening and ending Friday afternoon. Additional Information: A Colorado low will bring mixed precipitation to the area. The precipitation is expected to begin as a mix of snow and ice pellets this afternoon or evening before switching over to ice pellets and freezing rain tonight. Areas south of Gogama and Kirkland Lake are expected to transition to rain later tonight as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark. A rainfall warning is also in effect for some locations as the combination of heavy freezing rain and rain may lead to significant precipitation amounts. Please refer to the rainfall warning for details. ### Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Description

Rain, heavy at times is expected for some areas. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

What:
Total rain and freezing rain amounts of 30 to 50 mm.

When:
Beginning tonight and ending Friday morning.

Additional Information:
Areas south of Gogama and Kirkland Lake are expected to transition to rain tonight as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark.
