Description

A period of freezing rain is expected.

Locations: the Burin Peninsula.

Freezing rain duration: near 6 hours.
Total freezing rain amounts: 2 to 5 mm.

Time span: Wednesday morning until Wednesday afternoon.

Remarks: The freezing rain will be preceded by a period of snow and ice pellets. The freezing precipitation is expected to be most persistent over higher elevations, while along the coast, a quicker transition to rain is likely as temperatures are forecast to be slightly milder.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
