Description

A winter storm is possible.

Total snowfall: 30 to 50 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: easterly 60 km/h Tuesday.
Maximum wind gusts: westerly 80 to 100 km/h Tuesday night.

Locations: eastern Newfoundland.

Time span: Monday evening until Tuesday night.

Remarks: The snow will combine with strong easterly winds to cause poor visibility in blowing snow overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. The snow will transition through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain on Tuesday as temperatures rise above zero. A second period of poor visibility in blowing snow is possible Tuesday night as temperatures fall and precipitation changes back to snow.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Travel delays and/or cancellations are possible.
