Special Weather Statement
Snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, rain, and gusty winds are expected later this weekend.
Locations: Channel–Port aux Basques and vicinity and Bay St. George.
Potential snow and ice pellet amounts: 5 to 15 cm.
Potential rainfall: 5 to 10 mm with locally up to 20 mm possible over Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity.
Remarks: Snow is forecast to begin Easter Sunday afternoon and will then transition through a period of ice pellets and freezing rain Sunday evening, before changing to rain as temperatures rise above zero around midnight or just after. The rain will taper off Monday morning.
A period of strong southeasterly winds will also accompany the wintry mix.
