Yellow Warning - Winter Storm

Description

A significant winter storm is expected.

Locations: Green Bay - White Bay and Deer Lake - Humber Valley

Total snowfall: 20 to 30 cm, with up to 40 cm possible in the vicinity of White Bay.

Maximum wind gusts:

-Tonight and Monday morning: east to northeasterly 60 to 80 km/h.

-Monday night: northwesterly 90 to 110 km/h.

Time span: near midnight tonight until early Tuesday morning.

Remarks: Snow, at times heavy, and blowing snow will develop tonight and transition to a mixture of ice pellets and freezing rain Monday morning. A brief period of rain is expected over the Green Bay area Monday afternoon as temperatures rise to just above the freezing mark.

After temperatures fall late Monday afternoon, rain will change back to snow. The combination of snow and very strong winds is likely to result in blizzard-like conditions Monday night.

Consider modifying any travel plans; if travel is necessary, allow extra time to reach your destination.
