Special Weather Statement
Wintry weather is expected Sunday night into Monday
Locations: southern Newfoundland.
Total snowfall: 2 to 10 cm.
Potential rainfall: 15 to 25 mm with locally up to 40 mm possible over the Burin Peninsula and Connaigre.
Remarks: A weather system will affect the region later Easter Sunday into Monday. Snow will spread west to east across southern Newfoundland Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening then transition through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain Sunday night as temperatures rise. The rain may be heavy at times in some areas before tapering off on Monday.
Snow and ice accumulations may make travel slow or hazardous. Rain and melting snow can result in pooling of water. Roads and walkways may become slippery and difficult to navigate. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions.
