Description

Freezing rain is expected.

Locations: Gander and Vicinity, Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity, and Bay of Exploits.

Freezing rain duration: 4 to 6 hours.

Time span: overnight tonight until Thursday morning.

Remarks: Precipitation is expected to begin as snow across most areas. Snow will transition to freezing rain overnight and eventually over to freezing drizzle or drizzle in the morning as temperatures rise to near the freezing mark.

Roads and walkways will likely become icy and slippery.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
