Description

Damaging winds are expected.

What: Westerly winds with gusts to 90 km/h.

Where: Southwest Manitoba and western Red River Valley

When: Today through to the late afternoon.

Additional information:
A strong low pressure system now over central Manitoba will produce strong westerly winds today with severe gusts. Winds will diminish late this afternoon with the passing of the surface trough.

Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
