Description

Damaging winds are expected.

What: Widespread southerly winds of 70 km/h with gusts as high as 90 km/h this morning followed by westerly winds of 70 km/h with gusts as high as 90 km/h this afternoon.

Where: Southern Manitoba

When: Through the day today until this evening.

Additional information:
A strong low pressure system over central Saskatchewan will lead to severe southerly wind gusts this morning followed by even stronger westerly wind gusts this afternoon. In addition to strong winds, drier areas may see restricted visibilities in blowing dust.

Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
