What: Freezing rain, heavy at times, with amounts possibly exceeding 5 mm.

When: Beginning this evening and lasting until late Thursday.

Where: Central Manitoba.

Remarks: A major spring storm will give rain, freezing rain and heavy snow to central Manitoba. The freezing rain will transition to rain or snow through the day on Thursday.

Travel will likely be hazardous and some routes will likely be impassable. Prolonged utility outages are likely.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
