Description

Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h.

When: Late Tuesday afternoon to near midnight.

Where: Central Chilcotin (near Puntzi Mountain) and Southwest Chilcotin (communities near the Coastal Mountains).

Remark:
A strong Pacific low pressure system will track across the B.C. Interior from Tuesday into Wednesday. Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h are expected to develop late Tuesday afternoon and continue until midnight.

Winds will ease after midnight and into Wednesday morning as the system departs.

Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
