Hazardous winter conditions continue.

Where: Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt, Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, and Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.

When: Today.

Additional snowfall accumulation: 5 cm for the Coquihalla Highway. 15 cm for the Trans-Canada and Highway 3.

Remarks: A strong Pacific frontal system is pushing through the BC interior with snowfall associated with the system continuing today.

The heavy snowfall and gusty winds should begin to taper off this Thursday morning. However, accumulating snow will continue at Kootenay and Rogers Pass into this evening.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
