Description

Strong northwest winds with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible or occurring.

Winds gusting over 90 km/h have been recorded over much of central and eastern Alberta, and will continue through the afternoon. In the Edmonton region, winds gusting near 90 km/h are still possible this afternoon.

Areas of reduced visibility has also been reported in blowing dust in the vicinity of Red Deer, Drumheller, and Brooks. If you encounter low visibility in dust, slow down, watch for tail lights, and prepare to stop.

Winds will gradually weaken this evening.

Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
