Recommended Action

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.


Heavy snowfall, with total accumulations of 10 to 20 cm, is expected through Thursday.

Snow falling over the mountains today will intensify and begin to spread eastwards across the northern foothills this evening. Heavy snow will move southwards through Thursday and continue into Thursday night over southwestern Alberta.

Snowfall amounts will vary, with mountainous areas seeing widespread heavy snow. Along the foothills, heavy snow will be in narrow bands.


Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
