Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Description

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.

What:
Torrential downpours. Possibly reaching 50 mm in some areas.
Frequent lightning. Hail is also possible.

When:
Late this evening through overnight.

Additional information:
Thunderstorms are expected to develop and track through the region tonight.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
