Issued at Sun 10:50 AM Mar. 15
Issued by: Environment and Climate Change Canada
Description

Rain at times heavy and strong southerly winds are expected, starting on Monday.

Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm, with locally higher amounts possible.

Potential wind gusts: 70 km/h except up to 90 km/h over exposed areas.

Time span: starting over western Nova Scotia Monday afternoon and reaching eastern Nova Scotia by Monday evening. The rain and wind will end from west to east Tuesday night.

Remarks: very mild temperatures will result in rapid melting of the remaining snowpack. In addition, partially frozen ground will have limited ability to absorb the excess water from the rainfall and the snowmelt. Localized flooding may occur in low-lying or poorly drained areas.
