Description

What:
A prolonged period of gusty winds.

When:
Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.

Where:
- Prince George
- Quesnel
- Chilcotin
- Highway 16 from Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta Border


Additional information:
A strong low pressure system will bring a prolonged period of gusty winds to the Central Interior of B.C. Southerly winds will pick up Wednesday afternoon with gusts up to 60 km/h throughout the night. Winds will further intensify early Thursday morning as a cold front associated with the system begins to pass through the region. This will bring southwest winds gusting to 70-80 km/h, with possible gusts up to 90 km/h over the Chilcotin region. Winds will ease in the evening as the low pressure moves out of the region. Wind warnings will be issued if necessary.
