Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Portions of north central and northwest Ohio, including the following counties, in north central Ohio, Erie, Huron and Lorain. In northwest Ohio, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca.
When: Until 730 PM EDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
Additional Details: - At 356 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Lorain, Elyria, Sandusky, Norwalk, Fremont, Fostoria, Western Vermilion, Vermilion, Port Clinton, Westlake, North Ridgeville, Avon Lake, Amherst, Bellevue, Grafton, Clyde, Wellington, Green Springs, Northern Milan and Milan. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
