Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Hatteras Island, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Ocracoke Island, Pamlico, Southern Craven and West Carteret.
When: Through Saturday evening.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - A stalled front and a very moist airmass over eastern North Carolina will continue to support periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms with excessive rainfall rates. Additional rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected. Heavier amounts will be possible where thunderstorms occur. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
