Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Michigan Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County. Grand River at Lansing affecting Ingham County. Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County. Red Cedar River At East Lansing affecting Ingham County. Thornapple River Above Hastings affecting Barry County. Rogue River below Rockford affecting Kent County. White River near Whitehall affecting Muskegon County. Chippewa River below Mt. Pleasant affecting Isabella County.
: The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Michigan Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County. Maple River at Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County. Muskegon River Near Croton affecting Newaygo County. Muskegon River At Evart affecting Osceola County. Grand River near Comstock Park affecting Kent County. Portage River near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County. Muskegon River at Bridgeton affecting Newaygo County. Muskegon River at Newaygo affecting Newaygo County. Pine River at Alma affecting Gratiot County. .Numerous rounds of recent heavy rains continue to work through the river systems. Major flooding continues on the Muskegon River, with minor to moderate flooding on certain sections of the Grand River and other smaller rivers. One final round of rain moves through late tonight and adds an additional one-half inch or so of rain to most areas.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
Where: White River near Whitehall.
When: Until Sunday morning.
Impacts: At 6.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of several cottages, canoe liveries, and farmland along the river. At 7.5 feet, Expect moderate flooding of farmlands and cottages along the river. High water reaches the first flood of some homes and canoe liveries along the river.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/grr.
