Recommended Action
Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks. Seek shelter inside a fully enclosed building or car with metal roof if lightning is in the area and wait until the lightning has left the area.

Description

What: Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 95 to 110 away from the coast, and 85 to 95 near the coast possible.
Where: Much of southwest California.
When: From Tuesday morning through Thursday evening.
Impacts: There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors.
Additional Details: Monsoonal moisture will add to the discomfort level next week.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
