Blizzard Warning
What: Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 9 and 14 inches except between 11 and 15 inches for northern and east-central Ashland County and between 14 and 18 inches for northern Iron County. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
Where: Ashland and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation and the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band. Other locations including Madeline Island.
When: From noon Sunday to noon CST Monday.
Impacts: Whiteout conditions are expected, mainly in the northern half of these South Shore counties, and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening, especially along Highway 2 on the South Shore where the strongest wind gusts are expected. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
