Description

What: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of central, northwest, and western Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Albemarle, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Greene and Nelson. In northwest Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page, Rappahannock and Shenandoah. In western Virginia, Augusta and Rockingham.
When: Until 2 AM EDT Monday.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Additional Details: - Heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area through this evening. Many areas could see 1 to 2 inches of rain. Areas that see multiple rounds of heavy rain could receive localized higher amounts of 3 to 4 inches. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
