Recommended Action
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera and Kerr.
When: Until 1015 AM CDT.
Impacts: Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 855 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing across low water crossings and local rises in streams and creeks. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Medina, Bandera, Vanderpool, Camp Verde and Lost Maples State Natural Area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
