The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Western Chemung County in central New York Southeastern Steuben County in central New York Northwestern Bradford County in northeastern Pennsylvania Until 830 PM EDT. At 732 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Woodhull, or 15 miles west of Corning, moving east at 35 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Elmira, Corning, Southport, Big Flats, Horseheads, Elmira Heights, Caton, Lindley, Painted Post, and Addison.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
