Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: A portion of southeast New York, including the following areas, Northern Nassau, Northwest Suffolk, Southern Nassau and Southwest Suffolk.
When: Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details: - A slow moving low pressure system is bringing periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms to the area this morning. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, with locally higher amounts, could lead to flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
