What: Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
Where: Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, and Southern Oneida Counties.
When: Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.
Impacts: Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commutes.
Additional Details: Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour possible, with up to 3 inches per hour possible through early Wednesday morning. Widespread blowing snow will create whiteout conditions. Expect an additional 6-9 inches of snow for the Mohawk Valley region.
