Description

What: Residual flooding caused by leftover runoff from excessive rainfall.
Where: A portion of east central New York, including the following counties, Albany, Columbia, Greene and Rensselaer.
When: Until 630 PM EDT Thursday.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is still occurring in some areas. A few roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings may be inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect areas of slow moving or standing water.
Additional Details: - At 934 AM EDT, Residual flooding is still occurring across parts of the area with a few roads remaining closed. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Hudson, Chatham, Nassau, New Baltimore, Ravena, Coxsackie, Valatie, Athens, Castleton-On-Hudson, Philmont, Kinderhook, Lorenz Park, Selkirk, Claverack-Red Mills, Coeymans, Ghent, Stockport, Stuyvesant, Sunnyside and Stuyvesant Falls. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
