Description

Heavy rain may fall on a primed snowpack at higher elevations leading to the snow melt increasing. Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible.
Where: A portion of north central Montana, including the following area, East Glacier Park Region, including the east side of Glacier National Park.
When: From Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details: - Heavy rainfall is expected over the Northern Rockies, including the east side of Glacier Park from today into Monday. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible by Monday. Additionally, high elevation snowpack could be washed out, adding to additional runoff. - The east side of Glacier National Park, including areas around St. Mary and Babb. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
