Flood Warning

Description

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill MO has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri South Grand River at Urich affecting Henry, Cass and Bates Counties.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: South Grand River at Urich.
When: From late tonight to late Friday evening.
Impacts: At 24.0 feet, flooding occurs across locations within 0.5 to 1.5 miles of the river. Areas affected include low lying pastures along with cropland and secondary roads.
Additional Details: - At 11:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 13.7 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 25.8 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Flash Flood Warning

Description

At 1103 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. There are numerous roads flooded in Bates County from the heavy rainfall the past couple of hours. Between 1.5 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
Source: Law enforcement reported.
Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Warrensburg, Clinton, Butler, Holden, Adrian, Garden City, Rich Hill, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City, Whiteman Air Force Base, Archie, Linn Valley, Leeton, Urich, Montrose, Creighton, Hume, Chilhowee and Blue Mound.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of west central Missouri, including the following counties, Cass, Jackson and Johnson.
When: Until 100 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 940 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Harrisonville, Pleasant Hill, Greenwood, Knob Noster, Holden, Lake Lotawana, Lone Jack, East Lynne, Kingsville, Baldwin Park, Whiteman Afb, Centerview, Strasburg, Gunn City, Pittsville and Fayetteville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
