Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Bourbon and west central Missouri, including the following county, Vernon.
When: Until 400 PM CDT Monday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 954 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Nevada, Fort Scott, Fulton, Redfield, Marmaton, Richards, Deerfield, Metz, Stotesbury, Hammond, Devon, Horton and Petersburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood deaths occur in vehicles.
