Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Boone County in central Indiana Southern Hamilton County in central Indiana Hendricks County in central Indiana Western Johnson County in central Indiana Marion County in central Indiana Morgan County in central Indiana
When: Until 830 PM EDT.
Impacts: Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.
Additional Details: - At 336 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Greenwood, Lawrence, Plainfield, Brownsburg, Lebanon, Beech Grove, Zionsville, Martinsville, Speedway, Mooresville, Danville, Southport, Westfield, Avon, New Whiteland and Cumberland. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
