Description

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 309 UNTIL 1 AM CDT THURSDAY. TORNADO WATCH 308 HAS EXPIRED. THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS DE WITT LOGAN MASON MCLEAN MENARD TAZEWELL IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS CASS THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BEARDSTOWN, BLOOMINGTON, CLINTON, HAVANA, LINCOLN, NORMAL, PEKIN, AND PETERSBURG.

Description

At 1051 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding in Tremont. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
Source: Emergency management reported.
Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Peoria, Pekin, East Peoria, Morton, Canton, Havana, Lewistown, Washington, Bartonville, Creve Coeur, West Peoria, Marquette Heights, Tremont, Bellevue, Mackinaw, Manito, Cuba, South Pekin, Astoria and Glasford.
