Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Illinois, including the following counties, Clay, Effingham and Jasper.
When: Until 600 PM CDT Monday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 1153 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Effingham, Newton, Altamont, Teutopolis, Louisville, Watson, Dieterich, Edgewood, Mason, Bible Grove, Montrose, Wheeler, Hidalgo, Sailor Springs, Heartville, Bogota, Iola, Yale, Rose Hill and Hord. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
