Primary Threats Include: SCATTERED LARGE HAIL LIKELY WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE. ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE. A TORNADO OR TWO POSSIBLE.

Description

At 739 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Sheldahl, or 11 miles southwest of Ames, moving northeast at 55 mph.
Hazard: Tornado.
Source: Radar indicated rotation.
Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Huxley and Kelley around 745 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Big Creek State Park, Kelley, Sheldahl, and Alleman. This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 99 and 104.
