The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Colorado Arkansas River At Lamar affecting Prowers County.
What: Flooding has been reported by emergency management.
Where: Arkansas River at Lamar.
When: From this afternoon to late tonight.
Impacts: At 10.0 feet, The river is bankfull. Minor overbank flow into lowlands along the river occurs near Lamar. Water flows into low lying meadows near County Road 13.
Additional Details: - At 5:00 PM MST Thursday the stage was 8.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.6 feet late this evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 500 AM MST.
