Recommended Action
To protect your health, if you smell or see smoke: * Remain indoors with windows and doors closed * Avoid intense outdoor physical activity * Run your air conditioner and/or an air purifier * If you must be outdoors, keep the time brief and wear a well- fitting N-95 mask * Do not use whole house fans or swamp coolers that bring in outside air if you have other methods to stay cool * Avoid other sources of pollution such as fireplaces, candles, incense, grilling, and gasoline-powered lawn and garden equipment

Extreme Heat Watch

Description

What: Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 95 to 112 away from the coast, and 85 to 95 near the coast possible.
Where: A portion of southwest California.
When: From Tuesday morning through Thursday evening.
Impacts: There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
