Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Wisconsin Black River Near Galesville affecting La Crosse and Trempealeau Counties. Yellow River at Necedah affecting Juneau County.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Black River near Galesville.
When: From this evening to late tomorrow evening.
Impacts: At 12.0 feet, Flooding mainly impacts wildlands and agricultural pasture land. The approaches on both ends of the County Road VV bridge over the Black River in Jackson County may begin to flood and the bridge gates may be closed.
Additional Details: - At 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 12.2 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.3 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 12.3 feet on 04/07/1981. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued Wednesday afternoon by 1215 PM CDT.
