Description

What: Urban areas and small streams flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Central Menominee County in northeastern Wisconsin
When: Until 115 PM CDT Friday.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded in Keshena with sand bagging operations ongoing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.
Additional Details: - At 119 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in the warned area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen across the area since late last weekend. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Big Smokey Falls, Keshena, Legend Lake, Intersection Of Hwy 55 And County M and Middle Village. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
