Description

What: Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where: Albemarle, Nelson, Greene, Madison, Rappahannock, Page, Shenandoah, Augusta and Rockingham counties, and the Northern and Central Virginia Blue Ridge.
When: From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Additional Details: - Multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area this afternoon to evening. Many areas could see 1 to 2 inches of rain. Areas that see multiple rounds of heavy rain could receive localized higher amounts of 3 to 4 inches. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information
